Dr. Hwang is dedicated to the restoration of musculoskeletal and spinal function through the use of a combination of conservative, non-operative treatment modalities and when appropriate, advanced surgical reconstructive procedures. He is a published author of a textbook chapter on spinal deformity correction as well as an advanced biomechanical study of the cervical spine.
Dr. Hwang completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley. He then received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha national honor medical society. In search of warmer weather, Dr. Hwang moved to Houston, Texas to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine. During residency, he was honored with the Bronze Hammer and the Leonard Marmor Arthritis Foundation awards, both of which are given to the top resident. While in Houston, Dr. Hwang met his sweetheart wife, Adrienne. Dr. Hwang’s medical training culminated with the Spinal Disorders Fellowship at the University of California Davis Medical Center. In addition to honing his spine skills in California, he became an avid snowboarder. Dr. Hwang now practices in Houston, Texas.
