Zoran Cupic, MD
Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Zoran Cupic was born in Yugoslavia. After living under the German occupation, he and his family escaped from a Communist Regime.
He began his high school education in Versailles, France and completed it at The Trinity School in New York.
He graduated from Williams College in Massachusetts and went on to medical school at The University of Louvain. After an internship in New York, he began his orthopedic career at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia as a resident under Dr. Anthony F. DePalma.
In 1970, Dr. Cupic was commissioned as a Major in the United States Army and worked as an orthopedic surgeon for two tours in Vietnam.
Following the Service, it was a great honor for him to be chosen by Sir John Charnley (who is the father of total hip replacements) as his Fellow in joint replacement surgery in England.
Dr. Cupic has lectured and demonstrated hip replacement surgery throughout the world. He has operated on patients in Japan and most recently returned from a lecture trip to Lima, Peru, (March 2002).
He has been practicing general orthopedics and sports medicine in Houston since 1974. Along with his private practice, he has been very involved in the Spring Branch School District Sports Association. For 28 years he has volunteered his time as physician on the sidelines at the high school football games.
The two most important loves of his life are his five children and his orthopedic patients.
He is a member in good standing of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, (Board Certified), LFS, TMA, TOA, HOS, and HCMS.
